Created a bootable USB with El Capitan installer
booted from it, erased my MBP (mid 2009), clean install from USB installer
I need to make a bootable USB drive installer for a 2009 MBP. I just put in a new SSD and want to do a fresh OSX install. I believe that El Capitan is the last supported software for this hardware. I'm looking for an OS X El capitan.app download but I can't seem to find it anywhere. A funny yet helpful feature of Mac OS X El Capitan free download is the new cursor, if one shakes the cursor quick it will enlarge for better appearance.Functprotonality is of the Spotlight search tool is completely astonishing and precise. The El Capitan installer is downloaded to the /Applications folder, with the file name 'Install OS X El Capitan.' If you've installed El Capitan and want to create a bootable installer, re-download the installer from Apple.

But I can't do: STEP 1: Download OS X El Capitan & STEP 2: Create a Bootable USB Drive with UniBeast, Because I don't have another MAC pc/laptop. What can I do for installing mac os in my intel based laptop? Can I make a bootable USB for OS-X from a windows Computer? How it can be possible? Please help anyone. After getting a bootable drive or device follow the steps to boot. Insert the device containing os X El Capitan installer. While holding down the option key, restart the system. Select that particular device which contains the installer file. The system will start from the device containing the installer.
decided to use migration assistant, most apps not working plus all the clutter from pre clean install
decided to do another clean install but MBP won't boot from USB and uses the recovery version instead.
tried to get Maverick back and basically ended up with a non-working MBP that went into a boot loop
did a reinstall from MAS, ended up DLing the entire Installer again, went to bed and in the morning and 'working'
MBP again, plus all the clutter and non working apps.
Made a new bootable USB key using terminal and yes it finished and yes it said bootable at the end as well as in Disk Utilities.

However when trying to boot from USB, start+Option, or start+cmd+r still no sign of the USB stick, which i guess would leave me
with a non clean install again.
Any help, suggestions.....?
